August 2005 MASH BOTY Competition

Black Currant Mead
Makes 2 ½ gallons

6 Pounds Orange Blossom honey
3 Pounds Black Currants
3 Teaspoon yeast nutrient
1 package Lalvin EC-1118 yeast

Mix yeast nutrient with water.
Add honey and yeast.
Top off with water to get 2 ½ gallons.

Freeze currants then crush.
In secondary add black currants.
Ferment till clear.
