July 2000 MASH BOTY Competition
For 5 gallons:
Malt
- 13 lbs. British Pale Ale malt
- 1 lb. British Crystal Malt
Hops and Boil Time
- 10.3 HBU Bullion leaf, first wort hopped
- 18.6 HBU N. Brewer pellet, beginning of boil
- 5.5 HBU Mt. Hood pellet, beginning of boil
- 3.9 HBU Willamette plug, 45 min. from end of boil
- 5.8 HBU Cascade plug, 30 min. from end of boil
- 5.9 HBU Willamette plug, 15 min. from end of boil
- 1/2 tsp. Irish Moss 15 min. from end of boil
Single step infusion mash at 153 degrees.
1275 Thames Valley yeast
Fermented at 75 degrees: 1 week primary, 2 weeks secondary. Crash cooled,
kegged, bottled.
