Lemongrass Mead

March 2004 MASH BOTY Competition

1 gal. Orange Blossom Honey
6 oz. fresh lemon grass
1 pk EC 1118 yeast

heat one gallon of water and honey to 140F for 20 minutes.
mix with three gallons cold water in fermenter
pitch yeast and ferment at 70 degrees

at secondary racking, make a tea with lemon grass and
1 qt water. Add tea to secondary after it cools
