Presidents Message for August

It is that time of the year again; yes it is time to pay your membership dues. Annual dues are $35.00 and our treasurer Bob is eagerly awaiting your dues so please make him happy this month.

At our June meeting we discussed the need for some of our members to step up and take on the leadership role in our fine club. All offices are up for elections in December and we have some vacancies right now. The office of VP is vacant. This would be a great opportunity for someone who would like to be the president to get their beer glass wet. Eric has agreed to take on the office of Scrollkeeper for the rest of the year and I thank him for his dedication to the club. So think about it and get involved this is your club and you maybe the one that can do great things with it.

Our Mead Day is going to be held on August 22 at my house. We will be making several different types of meads and going over how to make this and other meads. We will discuss the different types of mead and the options you have making and or blending them. We have some of the best mead makers in our club and this is one of the best opportunities to ask questions and learn the in and outs of mead. If you want to make a batch of mead contact me to see what you will need to bring. As we do with all of our events please bring a cover dish and mead, beer or whatever. We will get started around 11:00 am and plan to have lunch at 12:00.

The June BOTY style was category 6 & 7 Hybrid Beers 6A Cream Ale, 6B Blonde Ale, 6C Kölsch, 6D American Wheat or Rye Beer, 7A Northern German Altbier, 7B California Common Beer, 7C Düsseldorf Altbier.
