Merry Christmas
To all the members of MASH and their families have a great holiday season.
I would like to thank Patrick "Mad Paddy" Gibson for his year of dedication to the office of president. Under his presidency MASH saw some new members with great enthusiasm and brewing skills. We had some good tech talks at our monthly meetings. And we saw the defense of our beloved Coconut Cup. I would like to give Patrick a glasses high TOAST, filled with a Belgian triple. CHEERS!
I would like to thank Scott Graham for the years of service as MASH's Librarian
and Web Lackey. For the next seven months, Scott and Denise will be hard at
work as the 2006 National Homebrew Conference Pro Brewers Night coordinators.
If they make it through it, they will continue the fine work with the Coconut
Cup competition.
I would like to thank Peter Buschbaum for his service as Vice President.
I would like to thank Mark and Diane for hosting our winter solstice party. Job well-done guys!
I would like to welcome the new and not so new officers of MASH. Russell Everett was talked in to the office of Vice President. I am looking forward to working with him on several different projects. Mark Bransford is taking over the office of Librarian. He also has agreed to work on our BJCP exam workshop and lead us into another BJCP exam. Eric Johnson is taking the Web Lackey Committee Chairmanship. With him at the keyboard we will look at revamping the web site.
Next we have some committee positions that need to be filled. If you are interested, this is a good year to stand up and take hold of the mug. Membership chair is vacant. As its name implies the position is to work with present membership and to increase the membership. Marketing Committee Chairmanship is vacant. This position will work on sponsorship of the club. See if there are any events that MASH can take part in. And the big one this year is to increase MASH's participation and visibility at the 2006 National Homebrew Conference. The Picnic Committee Chairmanship is vacant. This position will coordinate the two picnics we have each year and to help with big brew, mead day, etc.
What is in store for MASH in 2006 you ask? We will be working on updating our web site to make it more user friendly. We are looking at a BJCP area with all the information for the up and coming workshop. We will be looking at a recipe section that you will be able to post your recipes. Also having a supplier / information section for all your brewing needs. We are going to have a big push to get our members to attained the 2006 National Homebrew Conference. It is a great event and, if you have never attended one, you are missing the pinnacle of homebrewing so be there. We will be setting up brew days to brew for the 2006 National Homebrew Conference. We need ten five-gallon corny kegs of interesting brews to be serviced at club night and the hospitality suite. Dang this soapbox is sturdy! We have a pub crawl that is being worked on with the Titanic Brewery. We are working on BJCP exam study classes for those of you that want to take the exam or retake the exam.
I am asking all of our members for suggestions on topics for fifteen-minute technical talks to be held at our monthly meetings. There must be some aspects of brewing you want to know about?
In closing I would like to say we are small but we have FUN.
Thank you and let's have another great year.
Your President
Darryl Jon Hickey the only.
