We've been asked to support a change to Florida's restrictive beer bottle laws (which only allow beer to be sold in 8, 12, 16, and 32 ounce containers). This petition shows your support of an effort to change these laws to allow beer to be sold in any size container up to 32 ounces in size. Please sign the petition and mail it in today. Please also get anyone else that you think might be interested to sign the petition. If you prefer to print the petition in MS Word format, please get it here.
First of all I would like to wish everyone a Hoppy New Year. Yes, the Millenium is finally here (whew - thank heavens).
Secondly, it is with great pride that I assume the position of President. I also would like to wish a fond farewell to Bob Fischer and a job well done. Bob has led the club to up to the Millenium and I shall continue to carry it through.
I would also like to welcome on board our new Vice President, Scott Ross. Scott, I may have to impose upon you to lead the club for the first couple of months. My daughter who has NF (Neuro Fibromatosis) will be undergoing her thrid operation to remove a brain tumor. My wife and I will have our hands full with her recovery and physical therapy. So, Scott, I do appreciate your help.
Now as for the balance of this message, what else can I say that Bob Fischer didn't in his outgoing President's message? Well done, Bob.
Looking ahead this year, our club's first event will be the Coconut Cup competition held at the Titanic Restaurant and Brewery. I urge all of you in our membership to enter your best brews in the four categories chosen. Looking back on last year's performance, I truly believe that this will be another close finish between great competitors, so I encourage all of you to brew, brew, brew.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the January club meeting at the Thai Orchid. Until then pop open a cold one. Relax, don't worry, it's a homebrew. Bob Beard.
