Hello MASHers,
Many thanks to Colin and Mie Mie for hosting the club's Mead Day and August Meeting. I've heard that some of the meads made are already being tested for drinkability and I know that we all had a great time with the great syrup/honey taste test and in trying all of the wonderful honey-based dishes.
Our VP, Joshua, sent out a draft of the club's revised bylaws that have been edited and suggested by the club's executive board. Please be sure to have read them so you can bring up any questions or comments at the September meeting.
Our Coconut Cup Organizer, Jon, has suggested President's Day weekend (2/19-2/20) for the 2011 Coconut Cup. Please also be ready to discuss that date or alternatives.
The deadline for Commander SAAZ entries has come and gone. I hope that many of you were able to get your entries in and that some of you will be able to go up to help judge. Entries for the CFHB Sunshine Challenge are due between 10/11 and 11/7. The Sunshine Challenge itself will be held 11/19-20. See full information at the CFHB site.
Several congratulations are in order. Colin K. took first place in the July BotY competition with his Berliner Weisse. Chris and Jake took first place and Scott & Denise G. took second place in August's Mead competition. Josh K. took prizes in two recent non-BJCP competitions: 1st place, Stouts, in the 2010 reddit.com homebrewing competition and 2nd place in the ratebeer.com Summer Saison contest. Great Job!
Cheers,
Scott
