Objective:
The primary objective of this project is to give you practice in
managing a software project. Although the scope of the project is
restricted
due to the length of the semester, it will provide you with valuable
experience in terms of planning, organizing, monitoring and
recommending adjustments and actions for a software project.
The approach we will use is to review an existing software system with
the following objectives:
- Development of a project plan given the problem statement of the
software system to be developed.
- Identification of tasks, milestones, and deliverables
- Allocation of resources
- Effort estimation
- Risk analysis
- Development of a project organizational structure
- Identification of project personnel
- Management of the development process
- Identification of project goals and measurement criteria
- Monitor project activities
- Collect project information at different milestones
- Analyze data collected
- Present data collected in a review session
- Recommendation of adjustments and actions for planned and
unplanned activities
- Review of the Software Project.
Note you will use the software
system as a basis for making decisions.
