Presidents Message for June

At our May meeting we set the date for the summer solstice party which will be June 28. Eric and Caroline have graciously agreed to host this years event. As with the parties we have held in the years past please bring a cover dish and plenty of beer. Guest are welcome so bring then if you got them.

On another note, as many of you know Russell and Meredith are off to the great northwest or as I like to refer to it Beer Mecca northwest. I would like to personally thank both of them for all their help with all things brewing. I will miss Russell's challenges to brew some style of beer or something fermented in some cases. We will miss tasting his beers and their food. We have not lost them as friends only as neighbors. We wish them all the best and both of them we be dearly missed.

With Russell departure MASH is in need of a new Vice President. Right now the office is vacant but must be filled. Meredith was MASH Scroll keeper and we are in need of a new Scroll keeper. So it is time for some of you to step up and help run our fine club. If you are interested or think you may be please call me and we will talk about it.

The BOTY style for the month was category 16 Belgian and French Ale. We had two entries and both where very good. Jeff's entry was a great example of the style but the members choice was with the higher alcohol of me triple to sneak away with first place. Junes BOTY style is category 14 India Pale Ale which includes 14A English IPA, 14B American IPA and 14C Imperial IPA. With this style we should have twenty entries to taste.

We will see all of you at the Titanic for our June 22 meeting this Monday unless you made the trip to the National Homebrew Conference.
