Presidents Message For March
"Two meads to start"

It was bought to my attention that my prior president’s messages may have
had some grammar errors. Not wanting to offend anyone we have devised a
rating system so you can determine the potential for grammar errors. You
may have noted under the heading Presidents message a “two mead’s to
start”. This means that at the start of the writing process I have two
glasses of mead. There will also be a notation at the end of the message
that states how many it took to complete the message. Beer maybe indicated
instead of mead or in conjunction with mead. This being said I have
consumed two glasses of mead and am presently working on wonderful
blueberry mead which would be the third.

On to business, one of our own members Mark Brandsford has been transferred
effective at the end of the month. Mark holds the office of Librarian by
the way we need a new librarian. There is one good thing about this and
that is the next time you are in a brewpub in Austin, TX you will have
someone to drink with you. Mark good luck and keep in touch with all of us
you will be missed.  .

We had our fist official Tech Talk at our March meeting. I would like to
thank Mr. Saccharomyces Cerevisiae cell for inviting Meredith to talk about
his interaction with oxygen. It was informative and I think everybody
listened except Mark K. and was a good topic for our first of many Tech
Talks.  Thank you Meredith.

On to the BOTY the style for last month was English Brown Ale. A pat on the
back for a job well done goes to Mark K first place, Russell second place
and Bob third place. This month’s style is American Ale (BJCP category 10)
and as Russell has mentioned we did not have a good showing last year with
this style. We would like to have a fine showing of quantity and quality
just to make Russell feel a little better. Lets have at least six entries
this month so we all need to GET BREWING.

Each year on the first Saturday in May, homebrewers unite non-brewing and
brewing friends and family to celebrate National Homebrewing Day. This year
it falls on May 6. The recipe has not been posted as of this message. We
would like to start planning this year’s big brew. We need to decide if we
are going to hold it on May 6th and where we are going to hold it. So
please e-mail me with any and all suggestion on both of these subjects.
Last year we had a good turn out, good food, good beers and one very very
slow sparge.

It is good to be President or is that King.
Ah who cares the power has gone to my head.
Or is that mead?
