Williams Batting Champ Pitch-and-Bat Pinball

for sale or trade

A spectacular 1961 Williams Deluxe Batting Champ. That's right, this game is from 1961, but it looks almost new and is a showpiece you can place in your living room. This is the classic pitch-and-bat game, and is the last woodrail pitch-and-bat made by Williams, and it is also the last pitch-and-bat that used holes to score, so it is highly collectible to boot. Unquestionably, this is the nicest example of the game you will ever see.

Deluxe Batting Champ is a single-player game. You pitch the ball and then hit it, and it scores singles, doubles, triples, or home runs. There is a special super home run shot that is hard to hit, but scores 10 replays if you can do it. COOL! Grand slams advance letters in "BATTING CHAMP" and this carries over from game to game. Lighting the "P" gives more free games. The game also features three red plastic ramps with lights underneath. The lights under the ramps work, and the effect in the dark is surreal.

The backglass is original and is really nice. The cabinet has been professionally repainted and is stunning. The playfield is in beautiful condition. The super-home run plastic is in good shape. The coin door is fabulous. Currently the game is set on free play, but it does work on coins. The inside of the game is clean. One of the red ramps has a crack but the ramp is whole, and you wouldn't notice it if I didn't tell you. Also, there is a little rubbing near the bad handle (shown in one picture), but these are minor flaws in a great looking game.

The game includes ORIGINAL score cards.

You can find more information on the game at the Internet Pinball Database (IPDB). OUR machine is the one that appears in many of the reference photographs... you will be able to see that some of the IPDB photos are cropped from the photos shown below. Almost certainly this is the nicest Deluxe Batting Champ you will ever find.

Here is a 3-minute video of the game in action, but be patient, it is a 26Meg download.
