Spring 2023 Required Course Assessment - Guidelines
The assessment report for your required course is a direct assessment for the associated degree program. The biennial required course assessment report needs to be submitted as a spreadsheet with student performance on course engagement activities in relation to the course outcomes listed on the syllabus of the course.
Direct Assessment Report
To prepare the assessment report for the specific course assigned to you, first review the Instructor Course Appraisal (ICA) that you had completed for the same course in prior term(s) and note down how you had mapped each course activity (quizzes, assignments/projects, exams, etc.) to course outcomes.
Then examine the following new sample required course assessment (Excel) report:
You can use this sample report as a template and modify it for your required course (for Spring 2023), with the associated course outcomes, student information, performance scores, and observations. Update the spreadsheet as soon as you complete the grading of a course activity and upload it to the Teams folder for your required course. I will provide feedback about your assessment data at the end of February and March. At the end of the final exam, upload the final direct assessment report by April 30th, 2023.
Data security: I want to assure you that student information in your direct assessment report (Excel file) and the course artifacts will be accessed only by assessment coordinators, administrators, and the ABET visiting team through secure access mode.
Your timely engagement for the direct assessment is extremely important for the ABET accreditation of our BS programs.
