Subject: Fwd: [Fwd: IT Major with Business Minor] From: Tim Downey Date: 12/10/2011 11:26 AM To: Prabakar Prabu, Mark thinks we need to be more specific with the number of courses for the minor. He thinks we should state that 12 credits cannot overlap other requirements. Tim -------- Original Message -------- X-UIDL: f'c"!h~I"!f<-!!1"k!! I think they would need to take 4 non-overlapping courses to pass muster. A catalog change might be in order, although I think the university policies would take precedent anyway. Mark POLICIES RELEVANT TO UNDERGRADUATE MINORS The Undergraduate Policies and Procedures Manual http://academic.fiu.edu/polman/sec5-undergrad.htm defines a minor as follows: "A minor is an arrangement of courses that enables a student to develop a secondary degree of expertise in an area of study in addition to his or her major academic program of study." The catalog has similar wording. This student will have completed the arrangement of courses. No virus found in this message.
