Agenda for Meeting 12 (3/20/12 12:30 - 2:00pm ECS-349) Present: Tim, Norman, Prabu, Jinpeng, and Raju - COP-2250 / COP-3804 Tim will finalize these learning outcomes and will revise the syllabus cop2250LearningOutcomes.txt cop3804LearningOutcomes.txt How to teach the learning outcomes - Develop a framework for Learning objects within Moodle in place of labs - Undergraduate TA for recitation sessions is recommended - class size Review the effectiveness of large class size from COP-2210 and then decide about large class size for cop2250/cop3804 with lab and recitation sessions - Restructure both cop2250 and cop3804 with a sub committee (consider recent ACM proposal of Programming 0 ) - use of Python for the first programming course is not suitable - For each course, define the prerequisite abilities and revise the learning outcomes of the prerequisite courses - Changes to COP-4338 and COP-4604 Both Raju and Jason would revise the syllabus file - Changing of course title of CGS-1920 UGC recommends "Undergraduate Computing Seminar" title for this course - Change CGS-3095 prereq as (COP-2210 OR COP-2250) AND (ENC-3213 OR ENC-3249) - CEN-4010 prereq as COP-4703 AND (CGS-3095 OR (CGS-3092 AND COM-3110)) - Policy for old CS majors who switch to new program who have not completed both ENC-3213 and COM-3110, must complete either the old sequence or ENC-3249. Policy for old majors must stay with the old program or switch to the entire new program. - Reconsideration of whether COP-4655 can be an elective for CS majors No since the course content is not advanced level to be classified as a CS elective.
