UGC Meeting-7: 11/5/18 10:30am - noon ECS-235

Agenda:

 * Discussion on potential Emerging Technology track in CS/IT
    encompassing virtualization, cloud computing and advanced networking
    Steve will share impressions from the last week event
 
   Deferred to the next meeting 
   
 * New undergraduate course proposals on Data Science for CS and non-CS.
   The course proposals are under preparation.

   They will be reviewed at the next meeting (11/19/18)
 
 * Discussion on the class size changes (subcommittee recommendations - Tim)
   Programming courses: does not include adequate problem solving experience (critical thinking skills)
     
   University-wide class size cap WAS historically at 50 (for on-line) with no cap for face-to-face classes.
   The SCIS policy for compensation based on class size, is in progress.
