I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science 💻 from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and The Design Lab at UC San Diego 🔱.
I was a former researcher at Microsoft Research 
, Adobe Research 
and Carnegie Mellon University 🐕.
My research has been recognized with a Distinguished Paper Award from ACM IMWUT, an Honorable Mention Award from ACM CHI, a Best Poster Runner-Up Award from ACM SenSys, the BP Scholarship, and has been selected as a finalist for the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship and the Adobe Research Fellowship.
I received my M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University , and a B.Eng. (First Class, Hons.) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham .

🔬 Research
Grouned on user-centered design and context-aware computing, my research focues on Intelligent Communication Experiences, a new class of interactive experiences where AI seamlessly participates in human communication as either a communication partner or a communication mediator to enhance how people learn, collaborate, work, and connect. My research is driven by two research questions:
- 1️⃣ AI as Communication Partner(s): How can AI be designed as conversant(s) to enhance human capabilities in communication, learning, and decision-making?
- 2️⃣ AI as Communication Mediator(s): How can AI be designed and integrated as communication mediator(s) to enhance interpersonal communication between people?
