School Accounts

As long as you are a registered student, you can have an account to use the school's computers. This account is needed to access the computers in the lab. As long as you are registered for a CS class, you should have such an account. This account will also allow you to log into ocelot and weasel. SCIS Account Info

As long as you are registered for classes at FIU, you have access to a web mail account. Web Mail Account Info

There is a computer that is maintained by FIU, instead of by SCIS. This computer is named solix. Solix Account Info

Changing Passwords

Once you have a school account, it is good for many computers here at FIU. You should change your password to something other than your student number.

From the command prompt on ocelot, issue the command yppasswd
From the command prompt on solix, issue the command passwd

in order to change your password. You will be asked for three things:

• Your current password
• Your new password
• Your new password, again
