Teachers apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective asseessment and evaluation strategies.
IV. A:
Teachers apply technology in assessing student learning of subject matter using a variety of assessment techniques.
Demonstration of Mastery:
The Assessment Strategy document I wrote for the Instructional Design course successfully exemplifies this standard. Students are assessed by questionnaire and observation to determine how well the material had been learned. My Action Research project used a different set of assessments to determine how well information presented during virtual field trips is assimilated. This document describes casual interviews, journal entry reviews and short quizzes.
IV. B:
Teachers use technology resources to collect and analyze data, interpret results and communication findings to improve institutional practice and maximize student learning.
Demonstration of Mastery:
The Instructional Design course provided an opportunity to for me to master this standard through the Assessment Plan document. As well as noting how students will be assessed, there is a plan for how the information will be used to improve course delivery and student learning. The Data Analysis Strategy document from the Action Research course provides evidence that I have met this standard. The process and analysis planned for the implementation of virtual field trip student assessments will allow the implementation to be improved for future students.
IV. C:
Teachers apply multiple methods of evaluation to determine students' appropriate use of technology resources for learning, communication and productivity.
Demonstration of Mastery:
The Assessment Plan I devised for the Instructional Design course employs multiple evaluation methods for assessing students. Likewise, the WebQuest I designed uses bother written and oral communication methods in the evaluation of student accomplishments.
