This course provides students with fundamental knowledge and key techniques in the design and operation of mobile and wireless networks. A substantial part of the material will cover low-power wireless networks, embedded operating systems, and network protocols. A variety of different mobile and wireless network applications will be introduced, including clinical monitoring, structural health monitoring, and industrial process automation. In this course, students will also have an opportunity to obtain hands-on experience on programming wireless embedded devices to sense and communicate.
